This project is inspired by the women’s march in January 2017. I saw people wrote post-it notes and stick them on a wall in the subway as an activist act to wish for changes in the country against sexism and racism. I visited the wall and saw was touched by the power of outspoken hopefulness and vulnerability.

So I decided to be vulnerable myself, using the creative methodology by feminist artist Sheila De Bretteville when she was teaching in the Woman’s Building. I created collages and written out my deepest prayer for the world, and developed a series of poster, displayed them, and documented people’s reaction.

I wanted to showcase that women can be powerful and influential, as we stand together, we are tender but firm. I also made one descriptive poster and one process poster and displayed them on the street as an act of displaying my vulnerability.
